Everything You Never Wanted to Know About Me,

But Were Afraid To Ask....Or Somethin'

Okay, here we go.  My name is Joe Hanawalt, and I am a native of Southern California--Bakersfield, to be precise.  I was born the third day of January, 1978.  I have been making annual or better trips to Disneyland since the age of four, and I can honestly say that those trips have yielded some of the best memories of my life.  Most of them have been made with my family, while some have been made with friends, or other groups.  Each trip was cool in it's own way.  But surely I must be interested in other things, right?

Correct! actually, Disney, Disneyland, and this page take up a relatively small amount of my time.  I graduated from Stockdale High School in Bakersfield with the class of '96, and am now enrolled at the University of Minnesota at Crookston.  Crookston is a little bitty place in Northwest Minnesota, near the borders of Canada, and North Dakota. I am a student pilot here, and hope someday to fly for one of the major airlines. Flying is something in which I've always been interested, and I instantly jumped at the chance to become a pilot.  The aviation program here is done through UND Aerospace, one of the best programs in the country.  I consider myself lucky to be here, though I do miss the sunshine of California, and I haven't been to Disneyland in over a year now.

The rest of the fam is still back on the homefront in Bakersfield.  My mother Judy, father JT, brother Jared, and sister Jillian are holding down the fort while I'm away.  My dad is employed by Texaco, and my mother is an elementary school teacher.  As for the other two, Jared is a college student in his freshman year at Cal State University, Bakersfield, and Jillian just had her 10th birthday, and started the fifth grade.  She's a sweetheart most of the time; it's strange to see how fast she's growing up.

Need to throw in a little word about my honey.  Her name's Tara, and she's the coolest chick I know.  We met on Christmas Day 1999, and actually had a chance to visit Disneyland 2 January 2000 the day before my 22nd birthday.  It was a beautiful day (more on that trip in the "Random Thoughts" section of this page).  Here is a pic of the two of us at Disneyland, precise location unknown.

This Photo is Copyright 2000 Jared Hanawalt and can not be used without his expressed permission...unless you really want to use it, then I don't think he'd mind....but I'd have some concerns for your personal well-being.

At any rate, hi to all my people back home, I miss you all, and I'll see you at Christmas time.  Signing off,

Joe
